Jakarta has a tropical climate. Its daily temperature is 28C during the day and a somewhat cooler 25 C at night. The average humidity is 81%. The wet season is from October to April, with the heaviest rains between December and January, and the dry season is from May to September.

Casual and light clothing suits the climate in Jakarta, but for travel to mountain areas in West Java bring a light sweater or jacket. For dormal occasions a jacket and tie are required or along-sleeved Batik shirt is also acceptance.
